Rancho Murieta Open Spaces
SOLOS was organized in April 2014 by committed Rancho Murieta residents to protect and preserve beautiful neighboring open spaces, which include lakes (two of which are reservoirs and the water supply for Rancho Murieta), an extensive trail system, and abundant natural resources accessible to residents for recreation.
The formation of SOLOS was initiated upon concern regarding proposed development of an additional 1300+ homes in Rancho Murieta and a concern resulting from a potential water supply shortage. Many of these developments were proposed within areas surrounding the three most pristine reservoirs in Rancho Murieta, Lakes Calero, Chesbro, and Clementia, where the water supply can be limited and variable.

RM TRAILS: Rancho Murieta trails are maintained by the Murieta Trail Stewardship (MTS). MTS is a community-driven initiative in Rancho Murieta. The Murieta Trail Stewardship was established in 2010 as a voluntary service organization by local residents. These trails are not part of the Rancho Murieta Association (RMA), so the MTS takes on the responsibility of maintaining them. Volunteers from the MTS work diligently to keep these trails accessible and enjoyable for hikers, trail runners, and cyclists alike.
